Its not a nice thing seems to run in my family as well, my mother and 2 aunts have it recurring, all have had shots and keeps coming back, one aunt it was in her hair line and a little bit on the face, one aunt it appears on her face and ny mother it appears on her neck mother has had it now 3 times and aunt has had it on her face 3 times, i bought all of them tattoo numbing cream to help get through it, which helped to take the edge of the pain enough to not always be taking pills. glad your clear and feeling better

Im confused. I dont see how a vaccine that is supposed to provide the body with a small amount of something to build immunity. would work for someone who already has it in their system, and therefore would already have the chance to make an immune response? What do you think made it flare up? did you do anything or change your habits food medications or anything. That might be worth thinking about...

I am fortunate that I have never had any of those childhood illnesses (chicken pocks, measles, mumps, ect). I am 54 and my wife told me I needed the shingles vaccine and she was floored when I told her I couldn't get shingles because I have never had chicken pocks. :)

Thanks, Rob for sharing. My wife has had shingles more times than we can remember. Hers is very non-aggressive and always appears in the same place. She keeps acyclovir on hand for the flare ups -- not sure if you tried it. We have found flare ups seem to be linked to stressful events. Good luck in your battle. The pain must have been horrible for the first 6 months or so. Glad to see you're 95% back to normal. Cheers.

omg thats awful. I got a shingles vaccine a few years back, they said i need another because the first vaccine --that was supposed to be permanent---has been failing. but anything is better than getting THAT.

One thing i have done before w shingles is go for Dr and have mega dose of Vit C through IV

I have a friend who flared up with shingles at around 72 or so. He's been fighting it for close to a year now. Me? I got the shot!

Your last video with pictures about shingles was enough to get me off the couch and to the pharmacist for the 2 shot vaccine. Unlike you, I can't do pain.

I've had shingles off and on for the last 25 years ( nothing close to how bad you had it ) . I'm lucky mine didn't hurt but did itch . I have to wait until I'm 60 years old ( next year ) to have the vaccine on the NHS .😊

Because of your video I saw a year ago when you first reported this I have received my shingles shot. Currently, in the States it is free. Thanks for your honest videos...

Usually, you only get shingles once.

My mother's first time with shingles was in high school and then again about 4 years ago. The 2nd time lasted over a year. Yeah she said it was the worst pain. Glad you are better.

Not anti vaccine, but read about the side effects of the vaccine and people that had the shot and had complications, also be aware there is no guarantee you won't still get shingles after you get the vaccine.

I remember the last video you made about your situation. I kept it in the back of my mind and once my insurance kicked in this past January I got the vaccine. Like you said in your last video it's a two-dose vaccine. Even those who are anti-vax should consider getting this one.👍🙏

My grandfather had it on the right side of his face, possibly/probably elsewhere. He was in agony. This as some 40 years ago.

Thank God I have never had chicken pox or any childhood ailments. My sister is the same. And we both had been exposed to all of them. Like covid never got it and was exposed at least 12 to 15 times.

i met a guy 10 years ago who had gotten shingles in his late 40s and lost the use of one of his eyes!. borrow money if you have to, but get the dam vaccine. i got it as soon as i was eligible and its a 2 shot regimen that knocks you on your ass - feels like bad flu, but just deal with it.

Wow Rob. That photo of your arm looked seriously gnarly. Certainly had no idea of what this entailed. Hope you never have to go through that again. Ended up with a leg ulcer about 4 years ago, and it was quite painful, but it took about 7 months to heal, and the skin still hasn't fully recovered.

When I got on my chest it started off as a sore spot and progressively got more painful. The pain I experienced was as if a Major League pitcher kept hitting me in the chest with fastballs. After the blisters began showing on me I figured out what it was. Didn't know what to do about it so I began taking garlic oil capsules since garlic is pretty good at disrupting viral reproduction. Began subsiding within 2 days. Did it do any good? Did I just have a mild case? I dunno. Either way, it's not fun.

Rob, it’s much appreciated that you are getting this information to people. You inspired me to get my shingles shot in Bangkok last year.

I got the vax for shingles after seeing people suffer with it. They were going crazy with pain. My insurance covered mine. Without, it cost €130. Still worth it IMO. The Vax is actually two shots, with a break of a month between the two. I didn’t get any side effects, but some people do with flu like symptoms which go away after time.

That's a nasty case. Try cutting out inflamatory foods such as many plants, seeds, nuts and vegetable oils. I have been on the carnivore diet and it has done wonders for my skin conditions.
